The BJC is joining with partners from across the community to help sponsor “Shuk to the Core” at Beth Tfiloh on Wednesday, December 4, from 3 to 9 p.m. Approximately 40 Israeli merchants who have been severely impacted by the current situation in Israel will be making Baltimore their first stop on a 3-week tour of U.S. Jewish communities.
Areyvut has been sponsoring Israel Vendor Fairs in New York and New Jersey since October 7th as a way to provide much-needed financial support to the many Israeli vendors who are dependent on sales to Israeli tourists and are currently desperate for customers. They will bring a wide range of merchandise, including art, jewelry, Judaica, Kippot, crafts, books and more. Falafel and pizza will be available for purchase, and there will be supervised children’s activities from 5-9 pm.
There is a $5 admission charge for adults ($18 max per family) attending the Shuk to help subsidize vendors’ air fare and the cost of shipping their merchandise to the U.S. Timed entry tickets are recommended to be purchased in advance to assist with crowd control and parking.
